about LPC(O)

The Liberal Party of Canada (Ontario) represents the Federal Liberal Party and its 106 Electoral District Associations in Ontario. LPC(O) works with the thousands of members and volunteers in Ontario to ensure that it is a healthy and vibrant political organization.

The objectives of the Liberal Party of Canada (Ontario) are:

(a) to advocate and support Liberal political principles;

(b) to advance the interests of and participate as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada;

(c) to promote the election of Liberal candidates in Ontario to the Parliament of Canada; and

(d) to respect the principle of equal division between men and women in the structure and operations of the Liberal Party to the greatest extent possible.

Liberal Party of Canada (Ontario) is responsible for:

(a) organization and election readiness and policy development in Ontario, for representing Ontario to the Liberal Party nationally and for implementing national programs and initiatives in the province;

(b) developing on an annual basis, in concert with the members of the Liberal Party in Ontario, a strategic plan for the province that proposes activities in the areas of membership recruitment; finance and fundraising; policy development; EDA compliance; EDA organization, election readiness and policy development; administration of Liberal Party elections (including a Leadership Vote, a Leadership Endorsement Ballot, candidate selection meetings and delegate selection meetings); and election readiness;

(c) communicating regularly with its members and with the public in Ontario in connection with the provincial affairs of the Liberal Party .

The Liberal Party of Canada (Ontario) is administered by a volunteer Board, The “Management Committee” includes the seven Table Officers, the President of the Ontario Young Liberals (OYL), the President of the Ontario Women's Liberal Commission (OWLC), the President of the Aboriginal People's Liberal Commission (Ontario) (APLCO) and the six Regional Presidents.
